What event became a long-standing long-form WUVT-AM public service remote?

The Red Cross Bloodmobile Remote. When the American Red Cross would set up a massive blood donation drive in the large ballroom of Squires Student Center, WUVT-AM would put the remote board, turntables, cart rack, and cart machines on the elevator and set up in the ballroom during the late-morning/early-afternoon hours that the bloodmobile was in operation.

Regular shows would be done from there; announcers would show up there instead of at the upstairs studios. The feed was quite inexpensive; we just used a direct line we had dropped into a wall of the ballroom. No telephone loop needed.
