The "Crapitron" was Woovit Engineering's name for the Lafayette Criterion speaker. They were the speakers used for monitors in Studios A and B (By the time we built C for FM, we managed to score a couple of AR 4-x models.)

Lafayette was the proud product line of the mail-order firm Lafayette Radio Electronics of 111 Jericho Turnpike, Syosset, Long Island, NY in the late 1960s and early 1970s. This was before Radio Shack had caught on.

Anyway, Woovit engineering-speak for the Lafayette brand was Laugh-A-Lot. So the full Woovit name for the speaker shown here was a "Laugh-A-Lot Crapitron"!
