The "sole dictator" was Bob Ridle. He explains:

"[T]he positions of Business Manager and General Manager were elected positions. I was elected Business Manager and Jim Camicia the General Manager for the '67-'68 academic year. In December of '67, just before the beginning of the winter quarter, Jim announced he was leaving school and starting his career. The Publications board chose not to hold another election, and left both jobs in my hands for the remainder of the year. The "joke" around the station was that I had the first "sole dictatorship" of WUVT! Don't know if I was the first (or the only) to ever hold both positions simultaneously."
