Having PAMS jingles put us up in the ranks with WABC
and all the other top commercial professional stations
that were running Series 31,
and really gave us a fantastic sound.
We were able to buy the PAMS jingles because PAMS gave us a special price as a college station, made even lower by the fact that series 31 was "out of date" for PAMS at that time, since they were selling Series 35 or 36 then.
Also, WUVT didn't buy the full package---we got somewhere between 1/2 and 2/3 of the cuts, but we did include a bunch of sonovox jock ID intro cuts.
Jim Camicia started out as a jock on WUVT but worked his way up to General Manager, I think in the '66-'67 timeframe.
