In the early '70s (and perhaps the late '60s as well), SK's were records (Yes, we played records in those days before CD's!) that contained musical performances deemed of insufficient quality to be aired on WUVT-AM or WUVT-FM. They were the rejects, the giveaways. One suggestion that was raised: "Let's use 'em for skeet."

About the name...we're hesitant to mention this on a general-audience Web site, but...SK's stood for "S*** Kickers".
